Three more die with measles-like symptoms, combined toll now 840
Three more patients died from suspected measles across the country in 24 hours till 8:00am today, bringing the combined tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 840 in the country.
Three children died from suspected measles in 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths from suspected measles among children to 744 since March 15.
No deaths from confirmed measles were reported during the past 24 hours. From March 15 to August 1, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles stood at 96, according to the DGHS data.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, the number of suspected measles cases recorded over the 24 hours stood at 751, bringing the total number of suspected measles cases to 129,061.
During the past 24 hours, 121 confirmed measles cases were reported, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 16,180.
A total of 111,674 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. During the same period, 107,397 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
