Fitness in teen years may guard against heart trouble later
People who are aerobically fit as teenagers are less likely to have a heart attack in middle age, a Swedish study published in the European Heart Journal suggests.
Researchers reported that every 15 percent increase in aerobic fitness in your teen years is associated with an 18 percent reduced risk of heart attack three decades later.
High blood pressure may be worse for women
High blood pressure might be more dangerous for women than men, a new study published in the Therapeutic Advances in Cardiovascular Disease suggests.
As a result, women may need earlier and more aggressive treatment for the condition, the study authors said.
