How to Remove the Shortcut Virus:

To remove this worm, open up command prompt. You can do that by searching for “cmd” in the start menu or in the dialogue box which appears after pressing Windows Key+R. Then in command prompt type this in:
attrib –h –r –s /s /d e:\*.*

The last letter “e” is to be replaced by the drive which has been affected by the virus. Writing the drive letter in lower case will not be an issue. Spaces are to be included after each separate letter (h, r, s and d) and after “attrib” but not after the last one (drive letter). Next, delete all shortcuts and unwanted file/folders if still there.
