Account of a cutting-edge designer of Polka Drops

Clad in a trendy green kaftan and blue jeans, Fariya Tazin, the uber-talented designer ushered me into her stunning apartment to share her fascinating journey with 'Polka Drops'.

With no prior background in fashion designing; Fariya Tazin, owner and chief designer of Polka Drops did not feel intimidated at all. Instead she fearlessly embarked into the world of designing, following her passion blindly. 

"When it came to designing new clothes, I would eagerly craft my own designs and ask the tailor to adapt it. Eventually, the good reviews from friends and family encouraged me to become more optimistic about my creations. One fine day, having gathered enough inspiration and support, I decided to start my own line," revealed Tazin.

Known to work mainly with georgette and chiffon, the gifted designer is well aware about the art of blending; tastefully combining contemporary designs to stark traditionals. 

From kameez to skirts, to fatuas and abayas, Faria Tazin seemed to have everything in store. Her unique collection also contains the bridal couture. 

Differentiating between casual and party wear, the designer managed to incorporate lots of trendy cuts with plenty of twists and turns. The neck lines from her designs get the most consideration as she keeps it chic. 

All the fatuas and kaftans were in asymmetrical cuts with 'in vogue' sleeve designs; open shoulders, bell and cape. 

Even with solid colours, her sleeves and neck pieces were made to perfection with sophisticated lace and stone work. 

Each of the abayas designed by Tazin were adorned with beautiful ribbon work and exclusive embellishments. These abayas can easily be worn at any sophisticated gathering with great flair. 

Faria Tazin's beautiful collection has already had a huge response from the customers as it is affordable catering to the requirements of different types of people.

 "My collections are very cost effective and reasonably priced because I want to reach out to everyone," says Fariya, as she brought out one of her latest works. With her exceptional ability to understand customer's choices and demands, Faria Tazin has been able to create a huge fan following.

Finally as I asked her if she had any word of advice for aspiring entrants into the fashion world, she replied with an exuberant smile, "I always say this to aspiring designers - go with your instincts. Believe in yourself and everything will work out fine."
