Dhaka's first-ever home exposition

Windmill has organised the first-ever home decor expo in Dhaka. Home Fest Dhaka 2015 is going to be held on 6 and 7 November at Bashundhara International Convention Centre. 

The exposition is the tip of the iceberg. Windmill has undertaken a month-long home décor competition, from which 17 talented individuals have been selected. In the final round, the judges panel comprised of Dr. Jebun Nasreen Ahmed, Professor and Dr. Catherine D Gomes, Assistant Professor, BUET, Enamul Karim Nirjhar, architect and filmmaker, Syeda Tuhin Ara Karim, Lecturer, AIUB and Sabbir Rahman Tanim, CEO, Windmill Advertising Ltd. 

The best designer will be awarded with prize money of Tk300,000. On 21 August, 2015 a daylong workshop was held. The workshop saw the amalgamation of the selected participants and the different stakeholders of home décor. Together, they teamed up and brainstormed ideas about what to display on the home fest. For the participants, it was also a training opportunity - directly working with the various stakeholders related to interior design.  

The home exposition will showcase 17 model rooms in 3 categories. The rooms will feature various elements of interior design. 

The event has stalls of BRAC Bank, Super Star Group (SSG), Aarong, Berger, Amber Board, Akhtar Furniture, Tupperware, etc. You will be able to buy their services from there. Making a house requires a wide plethora of elements, and you require the support of a variety of people and organisations. From home loan to lighting to painting, this exposition has it all under one roof, thus allowing you get a comprehensive view about interior decor solutions.    

"There is a lot of talent out there. We want, through coordination, to bring them together and create something innovative and new. This is the very aim we wish to accomplish with this interior design competition," Sabbir Rahman Tanim, CEO, Windmill Advertising Ltd, said. "In order to get a complete design solution, we need to go to many different places. Therefore, in this fest, it is has been aim our aim to bring all the stakeholders together at one point."
