America is in deep freeze, Australia is in wild fire, China is in flood. What might be a matter of more concern than these types of natural calamities? Isn't it time that the US gave more attention toward climate change than invading countries in the name of “spreading peace and democracy?

When Will it Stop?
I teach political science in a private university in Dhaka. I was really glad to see the Star covering the recent atrocities toward the Hindu community in Bangladesh. I sat down expecting to read an in-depth analysis of why this has been happening because the blurb said,  "…the star magazine explores the reasons behind this continuous violence against minority communities."  But as soon as I started reading the feature I was very disappointed about the content, writing style, reference! You simply cannot put the blame on one single fundamentalist group. The role of the AL and others has not been something that they can be proud of either.  The writer quoted only Salimullah Khan whereas this kind of analysis demands many more experts' opinions.  Mostly the feature was the narratives of what we already know.  Well, the newspaper is always there to tell us what has been happening. We expect more from the magazine. Every printed word creates an impact on the readers, so we will hope that your magazine will be a little more critical regarding what gets published.

Hindu or Muslim
This has reference to the article titled 'Hindu or Muslim' this Question Asked by Whom which clearly shows the difference between the basic principles of Islam and the belief of Jamaat-e-Islam Bangladesh. Islam does not support any kind of atrocity on minorities. The miscreants try to justify their inhuman actions by claiming to save Islam. Direct references from Quran and Hadiths by the writer make   clear   the true message of God. Our prophet (peace be upon him) was generous and kind to people of other religions, so as Muslims it is our duty to follow the path of Muhammad (pbuh).   Jamaat-e-Islam is not following that path. And yes, "God loveth no aggressors.”

The Enigma of English
As a child I always wondered why when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out why they are not. I also failed to comprehend why when we wind down a watch we start it but when we wind down an essay we end it.   But that's the beauty of the English language, I have learned growing up. I appreciate the writer for shedding light on 'the enigma of English language.'
