Falling from grace!

Magistrate Rokunuddowla was like a hero to us and had won the hearts of Dhakaites for his praiseworthy drive against adulteration and toxic edible products causing irreparable damage to the consumers. But what we saw on the TV has left many dumbfounded. I couldn't believe my eyes when the private TV channels showed last week, an agitated Rokun spewing venom (like our cheap typical politicians) against the separation of judiciary from the executive. His attitude, use of words, 'melodrama' and 'threat' of work stoppage from 1st November were utter nonsense, deplorable and improper on the part of a government officer. The government had acted rightly to have made him OSD (or whatever) as he has acted irresponsibly sending very wrong signals to the citizens causing 'unease and chaos', that we least expect after our prolonged sufferings under the past three terms of 'democratic' rule.
