House gutted

Valuables worth Tk 20 lakh were gutted in a fire at a house at village Sirajnagar under Srimongal upazila yesterday. The fire originated from an electric short circuit at the house of Faruk Miah at about 11:00am, fire brigade sources said. Being informed, the fire fighters from Srimongal and Moulvibazar rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze after two hours of frantic efforts.
