9 RU Shibir men arrested, sent to jail

Nine Shibir cadres of Rajshahi University (RU) unit were arrested yesterday on charge of stabbing two Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists on June 10. The arrestees are Fazlul Haque Hall general secretary Anwar, Bangabandhu Hall general secretary Khalid Abdullah, Motherbox Hall general secretary Mamun, Suhrawardy Hall secretary Abdur Razzak, Suhrawardy Hall former organising secretary Abdul, RU unit sports secretary Saifuddin, local leaders Enamul, Mintu of Binodpur Bazar area and Babu of Mirzapur area. On June 10, a group of Shibir cadres attacked and severely stabbed RU unit BCL activists Mizanur Rahman Swapan and Ismail Hossain, both fourth year students of Accounting Department and resident of Suhrawardy Hall.
