JMB man held in Lalmonirhat

An 'Ehsar' member of the Islamic militant outfit, Jama'atul Mujahidin Bangladesh (JMB), was arrested at Bawra village of Patgram upazila on Friday night. Arrestee Saiful Islam alias Babul,28, is son of late Karim Uddin of Bawra village. Jaldhaka police in Nilphamari with the help of Patgram police raided a house and arrested Saiful. The officer in-charge (OC) of Patgram police station said Jaldhaka police arrested a JMB man seven months ago. He disclosed to police names and addresses of some JMB men in Nilphamari. Saiful Islam is one of them. Locals said Saiful was hiding at the village in the guise of a grocer for the last eight months. Our Nilphamari Correspondent adds: police produced him in court in Nilphamari yesterday and sought seven days remand. The court granted remand for five days. Officer-in-Charge of Jaldhaka police station said Saiful divulged important information to police adding that they are expecting more clues to their activities during the interrogation.
