<i>Addict kills daughter </i>

A drug addict man killed his nine-year-old daughter at Baruipara village in Tebunia under Pabna Sadar upazila on Saturday night. Matur Pramanik, a poor labourer, often tortured his wife and family members for money to take drugs, police and locals said. As his wife Shefali Khatun declined to give him money for drug, Matur started beating her mercilessly on Saturday night. When Shila Khatun rushed to save her mother, Matur got crazy and hacked his daughter. Both the mother and daughter were taken to Pabna General Hospital where Shila died. Police arrested Matur yesterday morning.
