Charge framing date deferred to October 6

District and Sessions Judge Md Momin Ullah yesterday deferred the date for charge framing in the murder case filed in connection with the grenade attack on AL men at Gulshan Centre in the city on August 7, 2004. The judge refixed the date on October 6 as the accused were in the capital and police could not produce them in court yesterday. The date was deferred earlier on July 21 and August 3 for the same reason. Sylhet city AL publicity secretary Mohammad Ibrahim Ali was killed while 50 others sustained injuries in the grenade attack after a meeting of the city AL. Police and others said, it was aimed at killing Sylhet City Corporation mayor Badar Uddin Kamran, also the city AL chief. Kamran escaped the attack as he had left the scene minutes before the blast.
