Protest rally in Thakurgaon
National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports Thakurgaon unit yesterday held a rally in the district town protesting police action on a procession of the committee in the capital on Wednesday. The speakers also demanded punishment to those who charged batons on the leaders and members of the committee including its member-secretary Prof Anu Muhammad. Chaired by Thakurgaon unit convenor Principal Merazul Hossain, the rally was addressed, among others, by local press club secretary Akhter Hossain Raza and former president of Lawyers' Association Advocate Touhidul Islam. The committee also took out a procession in the town.
