JMB militant arrested

Police arrested a Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) militant yesterday at Barabari Chowdhurypara under Pirganj upazila. Arrestee Abdul Hakim,20, is son of Zahirul Islam of Gobindapur village under Shaghata upazila in Gaibandha. Officer in-Charge (OC) of Pirganj police station said a DB police team led by Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sanwar Hossain of Detective Branch, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, came to the district and raided Moktarul Alam's house at Barabari Chowdhurypara at about 1:00am and arrested Abdul Hakim and Moktarul Islam. After interrogation, police freed Moktarul and arrested Abdul Hakim, the OC said.
