Nakkhongchhari den raided, six arms seized

A joint team of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and police raided a criminals' den at Kashem Tila near Naikkhongchhari border yesterday and seized six firearms. Sensing the presence of security forces, the criminals fled the scene with heavy arms, BDR sources said. However, the team recovered six guns from the den after five hours operation and destroyed several hideouts of the criminals. Locals believe the spot was a stronghold of newly formed Chittagong Hill Tracts Nationalist Forum (CHTNF). They said PHP rubber garden supervisor Hefajetur Rahaman and businessman Faruque were abducted by the gang.
