Robbers loot houses, kill one in Pirojpur

Robbers shot dead a young man and injured three others in a village under Bhandaria upazila of Pirojpur district early yesterday. The dead is Alamin Howladar, 26, son of Ikra Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Hye Howladar, while the injured are Sohrab Hossain Bepari, 52, union AL president, Hemayet Bepari, 38, and Belayet Bepari, 35. Of the injured, Belayet was admitted to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital and the rest two to upazila health complex. According to local UP Chairman, a gang of armed robbers looted houses of Anwar Hossain Sharif, Yunus Master, Kader Khalifa and Sohrab Bepari at Dhawa village from 2:00am-3:30am. As the villagers equipped with lethal weapons chased the robbers, they opened fire, leaving Alamin dead on the spot and three others injured.
