Jhalakathi police arrested a Jubo Dal leader on Friday from his residence at Kamarpatty in the town on charge of drug peddling. Arrested Al Maksud alias Collins is joint convener of Jhalakathi town Jubo Dal. Officer in-charge of Jhalakathi Sadar police station told this correspondent that Collins was arrested after Halima Akhtar Dolly, 26, a drug peddler, arrested with 26 bottles of phensidyl on Thursday, in her confessional statement said, Collins supplied her the phensidyl.
