BSF kills cattle trader
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a Bangladeshi cattle trader at bordering Joynagar village under Swarupnagar Police Station of 24 Parganas district early yesterday.
The victim was identified as Milon Sardar, 28, son of Ekabbar Ali Sardar of village Dhemsakhola under Tala upazila of Satkhira district.
The BSF men of Joynagar camp opened fire on some cattle traders when they were returning home with cows at around 4:30am.
Milon received bullets and died instantly while the rest escaped unhurt, according to report received from across the border.
When contacted, Major Shamim Reza of 41 Rifles Battalion confirmed the incident. BDR sent a letter to its Indian counterpart demanding return of the body.
