<i>2 'agents' of 'ziner badsha' arrested</i>

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Tuesday night arrested two more people on charge of cheating villagers by claiming themselves as men of 'ziner badsha' (king of genies). A team of the elite force caught red-handed Shaja Miah, 42, of village Maria Kuthipara and Shahjahan Ali, 22, of village Gandhorbobari under Gobindaganj upazila in Gaibandha from Keramotia mosque area in the city while they were cheating a man. They also seized a fake 'gold idol' weighing around 500 gram from their possession when the two were receiving Tk 25,000 as second installment from Ashraful Islam of Krishna Rampur village in Dinajpur. The cheat had promised to give Ashraf the 'gold idol' from the 'ziner badsha' on completion of the installments. Ashraful filed a case in this connection and the elite force handed over the cheats to Kotwali police. Both were later sent to jail hajat after producing before a Rangpur court. According to newspaper reports from several districts, a section of frauds introducing themselves as representatives of 'ziner badsha,' are realising good amounts of money from credulous people. Several cases of such novel way of cheating, done by promising to make the simple and innocent people wealthy in a miraculous way and within a short period, have been detected in the last few weeks.
