Border guards
After going through the recent serial reports on BDR and status of our borders in a vernacular daily, I was horrified, felt guilty. It speaks of the level of administration that we have since the creation of Bangladesh.
These very Jawans guarding our borders used to take the bullets from the enemy and face the enemy valiantly with so limited logistics and paraphernalia They have to walk on foot, cross the water bodies at the mercy of local boatman to protect our borders. They are not even provided with enough bicycles, let alone armoured vehicles. They sacrifice their lives to ensure our sovereignty. In other words they are the symbols of our sovereignty.
What puzzles me is that in spite of all sorts of limitations and shortcomings how courageously they used to counter the enemies and repulse the attacks! But never ever they were rewarded for their heroism and love for the motherland, nor noted down in our history. The state did not even recognize their gallantry and bravery. But why so? Could it be for fear of antagonizing India?
But we the common people who are grateful and proud of our JAWANS would like to pay our homage to our dead and wounded soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect our borders.
