Human Chain
'Try killers of indigenous leader Kisku'
Local leaders of different indigenous organisations formed a human chain at zero point in the city on Sunday demanding trial of the killers of indigenous leader Kartik Kisku.
Addressing the programme, the leaders said that the people of their community are now united to protect their land rights and a section of land grabbers cannot tolerate this unity.
Hence, those land grabbers are killing the indigenous leaders one after another. Kisku was killed by their agents as he struggled hard for realising the rights of the community, they said.
Indigenous communities of northern region would launch a tough movement if the culprits involved in the killing of Kiksu were not arrested within one week, they said.
Anil Marandi, president of Jatiya Adibasi Parishad, and general secretary Rabindranath Soren, among others, spoke on the occasion.
