Shibir injures four BCL activists at MM College

Four activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Madan Mohan College unit were injured as Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) men swooped on them on the college campus in the city's Lamabazar area yesterday. The injured BCL men--Abdal, Biplab, Mushtaque and Limon--were admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. Campus sources said some Shibir activists led by their college unit President Abdul Wadud attacked Abdal at around 1:30am. As Biplab, Mushtaque and Limon came in aid of Abdal, the Shibir men also swooped on them, leaving the four injured. Immediately after the incident, BCL activists took out a procession on the campus set fire to tyres on the nearby circuit house road and blocked traffic on the road for half an hour. Contacted, college principal said police have been deployed in and around the campus to avert any further incident.
