Seven bombs recovered in Chuadanga, Benapole
Law enforcers yesterday recovered seven bombs--four from Chuadanga and three from Benapole.
Our Correspondent in Kushtia reports: Police recovered four bombs at Alokdia village in Chuadanga Sadar upazila.
Following a confessional statement by arrested Lal Pataka outlaw Suja Uddin alias Joy Babu, police recovered the bombs from behind a mosque at about 10:00am.
Joy Babu was arrested along with arms from Laksmipur in Damurhuda upazila on Saturday.
Later, he was taken on a five-day remand by police on Monday.
A Correspondent from Benapole reports: Rab recovered three powerful bombs and 24 bottles of phensidyl from the house of one Ahmed Ali at Ulashi Bazar in bordering Sharsha upazila yesterday morning.
Rab said, acting on a tip-off, a team raided the house and recovered the bombs from the kitchen.
Ahmed Ali fled the house sensing Rab's presence.
Villagers said, Ahmed Ali's son Murad Hossain has long been smuggling and trading arms, bombs and drugs.
Rab is investigating whether the bombs were smuggled in for subversive purpose.
A case was filed with Sharsha police station in this connection.
