We will be celebrating our 38th Victory Day on 16th December, 2009. By any count or yardstick our urbanisation has taken place rapidly, so is the increase of population which simply doubled during the aforesaid period.
The urbanisation took place without proper planning and distribution of the resources in a balanced manner. The absence of necessities and security services across the country drove the people to migrate to capital Dhaka and even cross the border by land, sea and air.
Our presidential palace & prime minister's office were never empty for a single day from the day of our independence from where the decisions and implementation of day-to-day work were directed and overseen.
Yet, all the policy & decision makers overlooked that cleaning of streets and pavements and hygienic condition in hotels, restaurants, hospitals, clinics and its toilets and kitchens is a 24-hour and 3-shift emergency duty.
