Ref: Bangabandhu murder case court verdict. The television channels broadcast the above verdict under the heading "Breaking news" after 3:00pm on November 2009. As per "Oxford advanced learner's dictionary, 7th edition, page 1025", breaking news means "First to tell somebody some bad news". But the above verdict is not bad news. Also BBC uses the words for bad news only. Hope the relevant authorities would consider my request to use such words as indicated above.
