Peasant leader killed at Satkhira

President of Bangladesh Krishak Sangram Samity Saifullah Laskar was murdered by unidentified assailants in the town early yesterday. Locals found the body in a thatched house near his Katia Laskarpara residence and informed the police who recovered the body and sent it Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The body bore several injury marks. Family members said Laskar went out of his house at about 3:00am sensing the presence of the law enforcers who raided his house. He left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives and political colleagues to mourn his death. As the news spread, hundreds of people, including political leaders, thronged the house of the peasant leader. Different political parties condemned the killing and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits involved.
