Brickfields
Nine illegal brickfields have been set up in and around Gopalganj municipality and these are producing bricks by using firewood. These brickfields are violating the rules and regulations and have been set up on government Khas land.
I came to learn while collecting information that a brickfield could be set up only in a place at least 500 metre away from populated areas. But no brickfield of Gopalganj district follows the rules and regulations as the owners have political clout.
The authorities concerned should look into the matter.
