Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince experienced a massive earthquake and its ghastly effect still pervades over there. People trapped under the debris and rubbles are yet to be rescued and the UN and other agencies are rushing to the place. In this Caribbean country, after this havoc, the common people are fleeing the wrecked-town as shortage of drinking water, looting, homelessness, insecurity are haunting them. We wonder following the devastating earthquake how the survivors will recover.

The death and devastation caused by the earthquake in Haiti is really sad. But the people who have survived the earthquake will have to live with the pain of loss of near and dear ones. Lack of water and food is acute. The aftershocks are also dangerous and may reach the intensity almost close to the main quake. The international communities should make concerted efforts and expedite the necessary relief operations to alleviate the sufferings of the people.
