2 BNP leaders arrested for 'extortion'

Two leaders of Kendua upazila BNP have been arrested on charge of extortion, police sources said. Kendua Upazila Sramik Dal president Ehtesamul Haque Shahin and vice-president Maniruzzaman Kanu, both hailing from Atharabari village, were arrested Saturday night. Police said the two were collecting extortion from different shops at Kendua Purba Bazaar at about 9 pm. On information, police rushed to the spot and arrested them.
