17 witnesses to testify in Feni today

Seventeen more witnesses will start giving deposition before the Special Court-3 set up at 19 Rifles Battalion headquarters at Feni today. The court will record the statements of the witnesses in the third phase of hearing on the mutiny charges brought against 62 BDR men of the battalion at Jalaskara in Feni. Deposition of 17 will be taken in presence of the accused in the case. The court had earlier recorded statements of 14 witnesses. Commander of 19 Rifles Battalion Lt Col Gazi Md Salah uddin said the accused will be taken to the special court from Feni district jail this morning. On January 24 and 25, a total of 58 out of 62 accused confessed to their crimes in the court. Sources concerned said, BDR Director General Moinul Islam will preside over the court.
