2 traders sent to jail, six flee after cases
Two cases were filed with Ataikula police station yesterday in connection with recovery of fake fertilisers and busting of an illegal factory during drives in Ataikola market in last three days.
Till yesterday, 1760 bags of fake fertilisers were seized from shops in the market, Ataikula police said.
Fertiliser dealer Uttom Kumar Kundu and trader Md. Sirajul Islam Suruj, arrested on Sunday, were sent to jail yesterday, police added.
Six more traders were accused in the cases filed by Pabna Sadar and Santhia upazila agriculture officers.
The six accused are Mozammel, Mozid Mollah, Omor Ali, Moean Mondol, Abdullah and Helal. All of them are absconding, police said.
