Ex-AL lawmaker Tabibor Rahman passes away
Former Awami League (AL) lawmaker and Jessore AL president Tabibor Rahman Sarder passed away at Jessore Hospital yesterday at the age of 83.
He left behind his wife, two sons and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held at Jessore district Eidgah maidan after Zohr prayers while second one was held at his Baripota village in Sharsha at 3:00pm and third janaza was held on Buruj Bagan High School premises.
The deceased was then buried on Navaran Fazilatunnesa Women's Degree College premises in the afternoon as per his last wish.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her deep shock at the death of the former AL lawmaker and offered sympathy to the bereaved his family members.
The local Awami League, Juba League and Chhatra League leaders and workers also mourned his death.
Late Tabibor Rahman Sarder established a number of educational institutions, including schools and colleges, at Sharsha.
He was elected a member of parliament four times from Sharsha constituency in 1970, 1973, 1991 and 1996.
