Cyclone victims

The Nov. 15 cyclone destroyed acres of paddy, ruined the shrimp farms- (the second largest foreign currency earner). In 1991 a tropical storm claimed roughly 140,000 lives. The Bangladesh relief agencies have since developed early warning systems and built storm shelters to help people evacuate before any disaster strikes. Donors, nations and agencies have so far pledged over $550 million in assistance for the cyclone Sidr hit areas. People are coming forward spontaneously to help the victims. I think in this situation the government will have to frame both short and long term rehabilitation programmes for the victims.
