Complainant of case against KCC mayor seeks security of life
A complainant of a case filed against arrested mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) and nine others has sought security of life.
The complainant, contractor Bishwa Nath Munshi alleged that the accused are threatening him with the dire consequences as well as implicating him in false cases for failure to withdraw the case. Bishwa Nath who filed the case with Daulatpur police station on November 26 made the allegations at a press conference held at Khulna Press Club on Saturday.
He accused them of grabbing his paternal land in name of construction of a community centre at Maheshwarpasha in the city.
Bishwa Nath further alleged that the officer-in-charge (OC), Fazlul Huq and the investigation officer (IO) of the case sub- inspector (SI) Alimul Haque also gave him death threat for refusing to withdraw the case. The complainant demanded immediate arrest of the accused, removal of OC and change of IO of the case for the sake of protecting merit of the case.
Nine out of 10 accused are still serving in the city corporation and bribed the two police officials, Bishwa Nath alleged.
