Dinajpur Sugar Mill starts cane crushing
Cane crashing started in Dinajpur Sugar Mill at Bochaganj upazila yesterday with a target to produce 9,000 tonnes of sugar by crushing 1.2 lakh tonnes of sugarcane.
Industries Adviser Giti Ara Safia Chowdhury inaugurated the cane crushing.
In view of the potentiality of Dinajpur region, present interim government will set up small and medium agro-based industry there on priority basis, the adviser said at a view exchange meeting at Dinajpur deputy commissioner's conference room yesterday morning.
She also urged the private entrepreneurs to come forward to set up agro-based small and medium industry across the region that produces rice, jute, tomato and litchi in huge quantity.
