Turkish Hope School award ceremony held

The 'Year End Award Ceremony' of International Turkish Hope School was held at Shilpakala Academy Auditorium in the city on Saturday, says a press release. State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Motahar Hossain attended the ceremony as the guest of honour and University Grants Commission Chairman Prof Nazrul Islam and Honorary Consul General of Turkey Salahuddin Kasem Khan were present as the chief and special guests respectively. Bayram Saatci, principal of the school, delivered the welcome speech. In his speech, State Minister Motahar Hossain called on the school authorities to establish more schools in divisional cities and the other districts to provide better education. Later, State Minister Motahar Hossain and Prof Nazrul Islam gave away awards to the students who achieved excellent results in GCE O & A level examinations and won medals in International science and computer Olympiads in Georgia and Turkey, in the 7th International Turkish Language Olympiad in Turkey and in the First Biochemistry Olympiad organised by Dhaka University. The teachers behind all these achievements were also awarded a plaque of appreciation. Saidur Rahman, representative of Edexcel in Bangladesh, Gonenc Agacikoglu, third secretary of Turkish Embassy, Olcay Karatas, administrative attache of Turkish Embassy, Sami Jamil A Al-Hindi, deputy head of mission (Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia), Ghazy M H Al-Osaimi, assistant military attache (Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia), Hikmet Mesut Turkseven, country manager of Turkish Airlines, and Mohammad Zainal, country manager of Gulf Air, attended the ceremony.
