RSF Quiz Contest

The award giving ceremony of a quiz competition on climate change, renewable energy and 3R (reduce, reuse & recycle) issues was held at Mirpur Indoor Stadium in the city on Saturday. Rural Services Foundation (RSF), an initiative of Rahimafrooz (Bangladesh) Limited, organised the contest to celebrate the World Environment Day as part of its social responsibility. Like in the previous years, the quiz competition was held in 30 upazilas for the students of SSC/equivalent students. A total of 450 winners received cash prize, crests and certificates at “RSF Poribesh Utsab 2010”. The programme was aimed to encourage the students to increase their knowledge on environment as well as to make them conscious about climate change. State Minister for Environment and Forests Hasan Mahmud attended the award giving ceremony as the special guest. Niaz Rahim, chairman of RSF and group director, Rahimafrooz (Bangladesh) Limited, gave a welcome address. Dildar Ahmed Taufiq, head of programme (Finance and Administration), GTZ-SED, and Islam Sharif, executive director and CEO of IDCOL, were also present.
