Chemical warehouse sealed off

A mobile court sealed off a chemical warehouse at Majed Sardar Road near Nimtoli in the city yesterday. The warehouse belongs to the same person whose another chemical warehouse was responsible for the June 3 devastating fire at Nimtoli. The mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Mohammad Al-Amin conducted the raid and found huge quantity of rubber and inflammable products at the warehouse on the ground floor of a three-storey mosque. The magistrate said a case would be filed against the owner of the warehouse Ahid Ullah, as the godown has no fire safety equipment. He also said the mobile court has submitted some samples of the materials in the godown to the crime investigation department. Mahbub Alam, an executive member of the mosque committee, said staffs of the warehouse stayed in the warehouse, but it has remained locked since the fire incident at Nimtoli.
