2 killed in road accidents

At least two motorcyclists were killed in separate road accidents in Satkhira and Comilla yesterday. Our correspondent from Satkhira reports: A motorbike rider was killed in a road accident in front of Sakhipur Women College on Satkhira-Kaliganj road in Debhata upazila yesterday. The deceased was identified as Mofazzel Hossain, 32, son of Golap Moral of village Bayarbathan in Sadar upazila. Quoting local people, police said a truck from Kaliganj hit the motorbike of the victim while he was going to Kaliganj, leaving the victim Mofazzel Hossain dead on the spot. UNB from Comilla adds: A motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured in a road accident at Srimanthapur in Sadar south upazila yesterday. The deceased was identified as motorbike riders Azad, 22, son of Shafiqul Islam of Noapara village of same upazila. Police said the accident took place on Comilla-Chandpur road at about 2:00pm when a bus hit the motorbike, leaving Azad dead on the spot and injuring two co-riders. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. One of the injured Bashir Ahmed was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while another injured Abdul Kader to a local clinic.
