Repression on Journalists

BNP protest today

Opposition BNP will hold demonstrations and bring out processions in the city as well as at the district and upazila headquarters today demanding trial of the “killing of journalists and protesting repression on them.” The demonstration is also designed to protest the government “control” over press and shutdown of the private TV Channel 1. The demonstration was scheduled to be held on June 17 but it was shifted to June 20 due to the Chittagong City Corporation elections on the day. The demonstration will be held at Muktangon in the city at 3:00pm.
