Journalist Repression Day today

The Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) will observe the 'Journalist Repression Day' today. On this day in 1992, then ruling party-backed cadres launched a attack on journalists at the National Press Club, leaving over one hundred of journalists injured. On the occasion, the DUJ will hold a roundtable on 'Journalist repression: Bangladesh perspective' at the National Press Club at 3:30pm today. DUJ President Shah Alamgir will preside over the roundtable.
