Driver held with cellphone spare parts at airport
Security personnel at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport seized spare parts of mobile phones worth about 29,000 dollars and detained a driver in this connection at Cargo Village Gate of the airport yesterday.
Driver Mohammad Khokon of UPS agency was caught while fleeing with four packets of cellphone spare parts in his car from the cargo village at about 6:40pm.
Senior Assistant Commissioner of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) said Warid, a mobile phone operator, imported the spare parts from Malaysia few days ago, but it wanted to return the goods due to defects.
When the customs were sending the goods to Biman through a clearing and forwarding agency yesterday, the driver tried to steal them, he added.
