Mayor Khoka hospitalised
BNP leader and Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) Mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka was hospitalised yesterday afternoon after he fell sick while taking part in a demonstration in the capital.
"The mayor has been admitted to the Coronary Care Unit at United Hospital in Gulshan after he fell unconscious while walking in the procession from Muktangon" said Faruq Ahmed, a personal staff of the mayor.
Khoka became ill when the procession reached Shantinagar around 4:30pm and was rushed to the hospital by a vehicle belonging to a private television channel.
The BNP brought out the procession as part of its countrywide demonstrations against repression on journalists.
