Digital Bangladesh to ensure people's empowerment
Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad yesterday said Digital Bangladesh aims at ensuring people's empowerment and reaching government services to their doorstep faster and without any hassle, says a press release issued by Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB).
Proper use of technology can help establish good governance through ensuring transparency and accountability, he said in his speech as the chief guest at the inaugural session of the Orientation Programme on Digital Bangladesh at PIB.
He urged the journalists to inform people about the services and arrangements that are available through modern technology, especially Internet, mobile, radio and television.
In his keynote paper, Access to Information Project Policy Adviser Anir Chowdhury highlighted various achievements gained so far and government's plans aiming at making Vision 2021 a success.
Information Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and PIB Chairman Habibur Rahman Milon attended as special guests at the programme presided over by PIB Director General Dulal Chandra Biswas.
Fifty journalists from different newspapers, news agencies and electronic media participated.
