Call to increase budgetary allocation
Persons with disabilities (PWD) yesterday said the current budgetary allocation is too insignificant to meet their needs.
They said allocation is only 0.11 percent whereas persons with disabilities constitute about 10 percent of total population. Speaking at a seminar organised by National Alliance of Disabled People's Organisation (NADPO) they demanded at least 10 percent budgetary allocation for the persons with disabilities.
They called for rights based-approach in dealing with the issues of the persons with disabilities.
NADPO Chairman Abdus Sattar Dulal and Secretary General Md Jahangir Alam spoke.
