5 injured in Thakurgaon
Five members of a journalist's family were injured in an assault over a land dispute at Bara Khochabari village in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila yesterday.
The injured are Jakir Mustafiz Milu, 40, district correspondent of Desh TV and the Daily Jai Jai Din, his wife Rima Mustafiz, 35, father Mustafizur Rahman, 65, brother Bulbul Mustafiz, 35, and his wife Gul Nahar Banu, 28.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital. Among the injured, Milu's father and brother are in critical condition, said a duty doctor.
Milu's family and local sources said a long lasting dispute prevailed between the journalist's family and a local businessman over 11.44 acres of land.
