'Free Lal Math'
Paribesh Bachao Andolan and Barnak Samaj yesterday jointly launched a programme to free "Lal Math" of Mirpur in the city from encroachers.
Poba chairman Abu Naser Khan and local lawmaker Ilias Uddin Mollah inaugurated the programme. Eviction of the shops at the field and building boundary walls for the field started yesterday, said a press release.
After the inauguration, the shop owners started vacating their shops and BDR officials also shut down its shop that was built in the field during the last caretaker government.
Development workers, word councillors and local people were present during the programme.
