Elect competent representatives
Speaker urges people
Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Abdul Hamid Advocate yesterday urged the voters to be conscious in electing competent public representatives so that they can play due role at home and abroad.
He was addressing a reception accorded to Saber Hossain Chowdhury, MP, for being elected first vice president of the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) at Dakhhingaon Tajuddin High School ground in the city.
Saber Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion with Kibria Majumder in the chair.
Speaker Hamid said members of the present Jatiya Sangsad have been playing important role in different international bodies, including IPU.
He urged the new generation to be equipped with modern education to build digital Bangladesh.
