Reconstitute RRC for country's development
Akbar Ali urges govt
Akbar Ali Khan, a former adviser of the caretaker government, yesterday said the government should reconstitute the Regulatory Reform Commission (RRC) for the interest of democracy and economic development of the country.
The RRC should be strengthened for the betterment of people of the country, he said.
Akbar said this while speaking as special guest on the occasion of launching ceremony of the book "Regulatory reform: Bangladesh perspective" written by MS Siddiqui, a part time teacher of Leading University, at the auditorium of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
Khan, also a former chairman of RRC, said he resigned his post eight months ago since the present government did not implement his recommendations for bracing up the commission.
Chief Justice Mohammad Fazlul Karim spoke as the chief guest on the occasion.
Prof Sumaiya Khair, chairperson, department of law, Dhaka University also addressed the session.
