Garments worker strangled in city

Police recovered the body of a female garment factory worker, allegedly strangulated, from city's Chalabon Lane in Dakkhinkhan yesterday. The body was found with a scarf wrapped around the neck and hands both tied at the back with a piece of cloth. The dead was identified as Nilufa Akhter, 26, a worker of Dress Link Ltd Garments at Chalabon. She lived in the area. Police sources said local people found the body lying on the road and informed the police. Nilufa's husband Mohammad Shiplu identified the body on the spot. Police said Nilufa came home from work at around 8:00 pm yesterday. When her husband, also a garments worker, returned home at 10:00 pm, he could not find her anywhere and informed the matter to the police. Police sent the body to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy. Nilufa's father, Tajul Islam, filed a murder case with the Dakkhinkhan Police Station in this regard. Police is interrogating Shiplu and suspect his involvement with the killing.
